Oshiomhole revokes hospital contract
Monday January 19, 2009 by Anonymous

Angered by the substandard materials used in the construction of the General Hospital project in Ewohimi, Esan South East local government area of Edo State, Governor Adams Oshiomhole, weekend, revoked the contract awarded to Solomon Aguele, immediate past Peoples Democratic Party’s chairman in the state, totalling N98 million, just as he ordered that all monies paid for the said project be refunded to government coffers.

Oshiomhole, who revoked the contract after inspecting the project, immediately asked the supervising engineer to contact the contractor in his own interest to return the sum of N34 million being the total sum of money paid to him since the contract was awarded.
The governor, who visited the site after a reception organised in his honour by the people of Ewohimi, wondered how people do shoddy jobs and the supervisory ministry issues bogus certificates for the completion of such jobs.
